I believe that there is a general perception that Digbeth is an area, that is only inhabitated by artistic people, and is not available for everyone. However, considering all the changes being made to Digbeth in the upcoming years, it is important to create a cohousing resident that is fitted for anyone to live in. Therefore, my building will be designed with the purpose of being available to anyone.
It should consist of individual and private apartments, each with their own bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, and potentially living area (however they may be a common room instead?). The common areas will consist of a rooftop hangout area, maybe with a vegetable garden and firepit. Besides this, there will also be an inside common room, where inhabitants can come to just socialize, cook together, or work.
